The Lexus GS 450h sedan is a luxury division of Toyota, which has rear-wheel drive equipped with a 5 liter V6 DOHC Atkinson cycle, known as one with very high compression ratio (13.1), along with a permanent magnet motor electric and water-cooled battery nickel metal-hydride powered. The Japanese automaker has decided it is time to unveil his latest creation, the Lexus GS 450h, just this month officially revealed in Frankfurt Motor Show. Spec numbers differ little, if at all, since the 2011 model output.

Net output of the hybrid system remains around 340 hp and 0-60 times should still fall about 5.6 seconds. No EPA fuel economy figures are provided at this stage, although Toyota’s U.S. PR officials had previously suggested the new GS 450h should deliver fuel economy 30% better than the 2011 model. Unique to the hybrid GS is a project of the three single lamp, aligning the signal back to the first Lexus’ lights LED high and low in a single horizontal line. And of course, Lexus will use its blue hybrid badging on the vehicle.

“Adapted specifically for the hybrid powertrain and a first for the premium performance sedans, the 3.5-liter V6, DOHC engine benefits several technical improvements including the approval of the project’s Atkinson-cycle engine to optimize the benefits of fuel efficient Lexus Hybrid Drive. Compression is delayed in an Atkinson cycle engine because the intake valves close later.

This creates a high expansion ratio to less compression, reduce consumption and energy losses exhaust and combustion energy conversion to power the engine more effectively. The high compression ratio of 13:1, a new, mid-tumble intake port generator and the adoption of the latest evolution of Lexus four-times’ direct injection technology, D-4S, the GS 450h to help achieve better consumption fuel.
